Matthew 5:16 “ In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
The way Christians treat people is one of the loudest things we say about God.
Kindness is a Command, Not a Suggestion
Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
1. Being kind is an act of obedience
2. It reflects God’s character
3. Kindness is visible theology
Kindness is a Choice
Jesus’ Example
1. Healing the Leper (Matthew 8)
2. Welcoming Children (Luke 18)
3. Healing the woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8)
4. Dining with tax collector Zacchaeus (Luke 19)
5. Healing the blind man (Matthew 20)
6. Forgiving the Adulterous woman (John 8)
7. Feeding the Multitudes (Matthew 14)
8. Encounter with the Samaritan woman (John 4)
1. Kindness is not about how you feel toward someone, its about how you respond to them.
You can choose to be kind even when you are annoyed, tired, or angry.
2. Kindness doesn’t wait for warm feelings - it shows up in controlled actions.
Kindness When it Costs You
Luke 6:35 “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.”
Kindness may cost comfort; it may cost pride.
1. Refusing to humiliate someone
2. Choosing mercy over revenge

Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to demonstrate your kindness to the world around me. Give me the strength to choose kindness even when my feelings and emotions are telling me to respond differently.
