Prompt:


Who is easy to love? Who is hard to love?

  • God asks us to love everyone 


  • 1 John 4:20 “If a may say, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that loves not his brother who he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.”


Jesus Tells Us How To Love 


  • Matthew 22:39 “ Love your neighbor as yourself.” 


  • 1. Our “neighbor” is anyone around us. 
  • 2. We love others the way we want to be treated. 



What Love Looks Like 


  • 1 Corinthians 13:4 “Love is patient. Love is kind…”


  • 1. Love is being patient when waiting is hard 
  • 2. Love is being kind with words and actions 
  • 3. Love is something we do.


Loving When It’s Hard


  • Luke 6:27 “Love your enemies” 


  • 1. Loving others doesn’t mean that they are always nice.
  • 2. Love means choosing kindness anyway

  • 1. Sharing with someone you don’t like.
  • 2. Forgiving instead of getting even.

Prayer:


Heavenly Father, I pray that you would help me to choose to love others around me even when it is hard. Give me a heart which seeks to show others your love through the way I treat them. Help me to love others as I love myself.
