Whole Group: Practice counting up to 20, and then backwards from 20 using a visual number line. Model adding single blocks to a rod of ten to say one more of a number.
Activity: Give each student a rod of a number, and then a single cube. Have each student count the rod number and then say “one more of __ is ___”
