I was homeschooled through high school with a focus on classically inspired education. Fun fact, I can still sing my Greek and Latin root words songs. As a homeschool parent, while not formally using a classical curriculum, I provide rich language arts exposure and excited to increase mine and my children’s knowledge of a classical education.

I currently work part-time at a faith based homeschool tutorial. Outside of the tutorial, I am actively involved in my home church (Exodus) serving on our kids ministry team, coffee team, and hospitality team.

Faith

Although I grew up in a Christian home, my faith really didn’t become by own until I was 18. I’m incredibly grateful to my parents for instilling a Biblically sound foundation and the various mentors who came alongside me to encourage me in my faith journey. I believe in the inherent Word of God, that God sent his son Jesus to pay the penalty of my sins and that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. God doesn’t promise that this life will be easy but he does promise us that He will be with us. The presence of the Holy Spirit is active and alive in believers 2000 years and the same today. My prayer is for an increased awareness of God’s presence and continued growth in my own walk with Jesus.

Philosophy of Education

Provide a rich educational foundation, honoring the traditions of the past while preparing children for success in a digital age.

I grew up using Sonlight for our homeschool curriculum (and have continued this with my own children). While not formally classical, it exposed me to rich literature, traditional skills, and a strong understanding of linguistics. I am eager to increase my knowledge of classical education.
