Ch 2 Acids, Bases and Biomolecules

After a quick review of bonds, our water worksheet (phase change) and the properties of water that are so essential to life, we dive into acids, bases and the pH scale (pp53-55, Fig 2.26) then into the world of complex biological molecules: Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins, Amino Acids and Nucleic Acids.

We will discuss a future research project on one of the complex molecules for each student to cover due October 13th.
