Math: Take Away to Subtract page 128 teachers guide (Learn lesson)
Whole Group: Teach the subtraction symbol, teach students that that symbol means we are taking something away. Write different number sentences on the board and have each student say out loud the subtraction sentence correctly.
Activity: Have students use counters to model different subtraction sentences. Do the hide and take away activity on pg. 129 if time. Model writing the subtraction sentence on the board.
