Math: Take Away to Subtract- Part 1 pg. 125 Teachers Guide
Whole Group: Talk through the picture on page 101 in Math textbook. Talk about how there were 5 children but 2 are walking away leaving 3 left. Talk about the other objects, flowers, ducks, etc.

Activity: Tell different subtraction number stories. Have students use their fingers to represent the number sentence. Sam had 5 bananas (hold up 5), then he ate 2 (put down two fingers) How many does he have left? Have each student come up and help create a “take away” story.
