In Book 4 of The Aeneid, Virgil forces us to choose between love and duty. This assignment asks you to decide who is morally right and why using evidence from the text.
Your Task:
Choose one of the four questions:
1. Is Aeneas morally justified in leaving Dido?
2. Who is most responsible for Dido’s death?
3. Did Aeneas deceive Dido?
4. Who behaves more honorably in Book 4?
Write a one-page(at least 3 paragraphs) argument that answers your question.
Your response must:
• Make a clear claim (not a summary)
• Use at least three specific moments or quotations from Book 4
• Explain why those moments prove your point
• Acknowledge one opposing view and respond to it
