Assignment Description
This week, kindergarteners will start receiving explicit instruction on stroke formation. Print the attached document and have your student practice the beginning strokes of clock struck letters. After ensuring your student is holding their pencil correctly and sitting up straight, give these instructions, "move over a space, touch two, curve up, touch the dotted line, curve down, touch ten." Have your student tell their pencils what to do with those words.
This formation is the basis for the first letters that will be introduced officially next week. If you want to start practicing the other stroke. They start on the top base line and pull their pencil straight down to the base line.
