Assignment Description
MONDAY:
Students will review Books 6–7 with a quick recap game, then learn how Homer used similes to connect epic battles to everyday life. After defining similes and exploring examples, we will model how to build a Homeric simile step by step. Students will practice writing their own extended comparisons, adding vivid details of sight, sound, and emotion. We will close by sharing a few aloud and reflecting on why authors use similes and how they link epic stories to ordinary human experience.
