I have attached a scoring RUBRIC for FUTURE formal presentations. NOTE: this RUBRIC is just a GUIDE for scoring on a speech/presentation. We are building our public speaking skills--this is your first one and is not formal, so just do your best (Colossians 3:23)!

Here are some public speaking tips for success:

-Anchor one foot—don’t move around too much               

-If not using hands, they should be clasped in front or behind

-Do not obstruct the screen (if using the screen) 

-Try not to obstruct the white board while writing

-Use silent pauses, not um, ah...

-Always introduce yourself to your audience                 

-If making eye contact makes you nervous, look at fore heads

-Tables/podiums are a tool, not a crutch (don't hide behind them)                            

-Be prepared for questions--think of some questions your audience might ask and have the answers ready

-Do not stare at board/notes and read verbatim
