Assignment Description
Lesson Overview:
In this lesson, students will study Figure Drawing as part of Unit 5: Form & Figure.
Students will learn foundational figure-drawing proportions and practice drawing the human figure in their sketchbooks using graphite.
The majority of class will be dedicated to guided studio work.
At the end of class, students will be introduced to their Unit Project: a graphite replication of a Caryatid sculpture, focusing on proportion, form, value, and shading.
This is a fully in-class lesson with no homework (Unless they would like to get started on their unit project at home).
