Self Portrait Creation
Assignment Description
Hi Students!
“You are made in the image of God. How do you see His reflection in yourself? Show that in your artwork.”
Your assignment for this week is to create a self portrait (page 4 of your sketchbook).
You can choose any style and medium- get creative in ways you want to portray who God has created you to be (Feel free to look up different art styles throughout history- renaissance, realism, abstract, impressionism, even collage art, etc)!
As you create- remember Imago Dei- how do you reflect God's creativity and glory in the way He has created you. (2 Cor. 3:18)
Add personal symbols- colors, objects, settings, etc that represent you as a unique and intentionally created person. Think of your passions, hobbies, etc! -Show not just your likeness, but meaning.
We will present our self portraits in class next Wednesday - I will save 10 minutes at the beginning of class for final touches if needed prior to presentation!
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! Happy self-portrait-ing!
-Mrs Micek
*I have also attached the artworks we observed in class if you wanted to view those again.
