Math: Putting Numbers Together (pg 40 teacher guide)
Whole Group: Show students pictures on the board of two different colors/shapes, ask the students how many shapes are in all, repeat with different objects/shapes.
Activity: Repeat exercise above and have students create the number sentence with cubes, for example 2 blue birds and 2 red birds make 4 birds in all. If time use cubes to represent this.
