Prepare for a recipe

Go over the recipe at home with your parents or whoever will help you get the ingredients and cook. Make a shopping list and plan a day to shop and cook in the coming week.

Tip: look up videos of these recipes. There's lots of old hispanic ladies uploading their home cooking. Do not despair if the video is only in Spanish, what you are looking at is the techniques they use. How do they knead the dough? What tools are they using? Does it look feasible? Use visual cues, and if you happen to understand some of what they're saying that is a great bonus.
