Assignment Description
- Write a rough draft from their Key Word Outline. The students wrote the first sentence in their workbooks today in class. Handwrite and double-space. If students struggle with handwriting, you can help them by
- Have them dictate each sentence to you and you can handwrite.
- Take turns writing sentences. Student dictates one sentence and you write and then they write the next
sentence. Handwriting is an important part of the process. Encourage them to write more each time they write a paper.
- Complete page 24 in the IEW workbook.
- Ask students to show you the -ly adverb list that I handed out and the checklist. Both are in their 3-ring binder. The checklist is a guide to use when writing their papers. You don't have to worry about filling out the
checklist until they write their final draft.
Things we are working on:
Write in complete sentences. Use correct punctuation, spelling, capitalization. Incorporate -ly adverbs and vocabulary words. Write one complete sentence for each line in their KWO. Review the composition checklist with your students, page 25 SW.
This is the same at home work for Monday too. Feel free to space it out between the two days.
