Assignment Description
In this lesson, students explore how ancient Egyptians used the myth of Osiris, Isis, and Horus to explain power, order, and kingship. Through guided reading, partner narration, and historical reflection, they connect the myth’s cycle of death and rebirth to the rise, collapse, and restoration of Egypt’s early dynasties. By the end, students recognize how myth shaped Egypt’s understanding of divine rule and begin to trace how later Greek thinkers will seek that same order through reason instead of the gods.
