Assignment Description
This lesson guides students to explore how Achilles’ rage evolves in "The Iliad" Books 19–21 as it shifts from pride to vengeance. After reading a vivid passage describing Achilles’ new armor, students retell the events in pairs to practice narration and deepen understanding. They then engage in a Socratic Seminar that connects Homer’s themes of rage, justice, and glory to their own writing in the "Memoir in Epic Style" project.
