Assignment Description
•Read LoH section on War & Embargo (112-113)
•Narrate the events and circumstances surrounding the end of Jefferson's presidency and the beginning of intentional war. Recite Jefferson's economic strategy and its effects.
•Discuss: How should a small nation respond when two powerful countries are at war? What were the pros and cons of Jefferson's embargo? Was it wise or harmful? What might have been other alternatives?
•Keep these ideas in mind for Monday when we "debate" these options.
•Write a short journal entry (75-100 words) based on the entry from Thursday. Present your perspective of the days' events as if you were part of the exploration party. Be sure to note the geography, water navigation, and natural observations similar to Lewis.
