•Narrate: Explain Roger Williams' primary reason(s) for seeking a separation between church and state, religious and civil authority.
•Discuss primary events in Roger William's life which led to the establishment of Rhode Island, as sketched in biographical summary within the primary source text:
-Departure from England to Massachusetts.
-Issues with Governor William Bradford.
-Banishment.

-Return to England to receive official charter.
