Unit 4: Summarizing a Reference (WEEK 8)

Over the next 3 1/2 weeks, students will write a 3 paragraph report on 3 topics from a chosen source. The final paper will be read aloud in class on October 29.

DUE 10/20:

1. Pick your 2ND topic from the 3 identified on Tuesday. Remember, you are using one of the following source texts:

“Madam C.J. Walker”

“Jackie Robinson”

“Neil Armstrong”

“Sally Ride”

2. Read the entire source, identifying INTERESTING, IMPORTANT, or RELEVANT facts to the 2ND topic. Underline, highight or use a sticky tab to indicate these facts. 

3. Choose 5 - 7 facts ONLY and write a KWO on the first topic.

4. Use the "topic-clincher" rule.
