Introduced Unit 4: Summarizing a Reference

Unit Goals:

1. For students to take Key Word Outline (KWO) notes on a specific topic from a reference, and write a summary from the outline.

2. To introduce the topic sentence and paragraph clincher.

3. For students to document their references.

Using the source text "MADAME MARIE CURIE," we:

1. Chose 2 topics

2. Wrote a KWO on the first topic

3. Used the "topic-clincher" rule (See Unit 4 Model Chart pg 57)
