Assignment Description
Students explored The Iliad, Book 16, through a lively debate asking, “Whose fault is the death of Patroclus—Achilles or Patroclus himself?” After reviewing key events and quotes, students formed teams, built arguments, and presented their cases before a student “tribunal.” The activity encouraged close reading, critical thinking, and thoughtful discussion about pride, friendship, and responsibility in Homer’s epic.
