Faith & Philosophy
Our family loves Jesus. We are saved by grace through faith! Everything we do flows from our faith and love for Jesus
We have homeschooled for 4 years now and just moved to TN from MN. We are seeking a more structured tutorial style
Praise and worship are a big part of our day. Prayer always. Memorizing scripture for homeschool. Daily devotional
Academic goals- Christ centered education that we can build off of at home Spiritual- have a deep understanding of God's word ultimately to know Him! Socially- meet friends/families that have the same goal of raising children in the Lord and His ways
My understanding is the focus on creating lifelong learners. To produce critical thinking skills and work with each stage of development. Curriculum that is rooted in a biblical worldview.
We parent our children with both correction and connection. We discipline because we love them. We love our children so much and want them to follow in the ways of the Lord.
Students (2)
Jett Thorson 3rd Grade → 4th
We first moved here in June of 2025. We wanted to find community so we joined a CC group referred to us by our neighbors. We have loved CC, but are looking for something different.
Jett is the first born. He has two younger sisters. He is a quick learner and great listener. He is a rule follower and leader. I would say Jett is too hard on himself at times. He has a fear of failure and sometimes unrealistic expectations of himself. He loves sports (football), hanging with friends, and art.
Jett is a math guy. He can pick up concepts fairly quickly. He also enjoys science and geography
Jett is hard on himself but he usually needs space to think about his actions and cool off before we talk and pray about it with him.
Jett met a friend at CC, Owen Davis, who just switched to Saints. His biggest concern is Singapore Math
Josie Thorson Kindergarten → 1st
Wanted something more structured
Josie is the middle child. She is our social girl who loves friends and people. She loves Jesus, creating, singing, and being with her family
Josie is working on reading still. We are still feeling out her learning style and work ethic. She is great with addition, still working on subtraction. Hoping by the end of summer she will be reading fully
She usually cries or apologizes quickly and needs a hug
I am going to start incorporating Singapore Math into our routine with her.
