Faith & Philosophy

I grew up in a Christian home and put my faith in Jesus at an early age. Since childhood, I've spent the rest of my life growing in my relationship with the Lord. He is my friend, Savior, and comforter. It is my greatest assignment to lead my daughter closer to Jesus every day. I have found total fulfillment walking with Jesus through life's greatest challenges and blessings, nothing else can satisfy like Him.

We are currently in a different homeschool tutorial program, and I'm excited to make the change to Saints. One reason being the education style - I know my daughter, Ellie Rose, will thrive in a setting with more structure and where the bar is a little bit higher. We love the benefits of homeschool, and gaining the support from Saints would be amazing!

We start the day with a daily devotional at breakfast, and end the day with a Bible story and prayer before bed. This is something that has always been apart of our routine. Apart from that, I strive as a mom to incorporate Jesus into everything we do. Every conversation leads back to Jesus. Every behavior correction leads back to Jesus. Of course I don't get this perfect every time, but my heart is to steward the small moments.

My specific hope is that Ellie Rose finds deep friendships. She is an only child, and the older she gets, the more aware she is that she feels alone. I would love for this to be a place of lasting connection for her. Of course I hope she grows academically and spiritually as well :)

My understanding is that classical education is rooted in a classical style of learning, meaning a discussion based class setting that focuses on the beauty of learning. For example, instead of just doing a craft - it's learning a specific art technique. All of this points back to God, creation, and truth.

Our values as a family are rooted in the Word of God. We believe that children are God's greatest gift, and we have the honor and responsibility of stewarding Ellie Rose's life. I get to disciple my daughter every day. Grace and discipline go hand and hand as we partner with the Lord to help shape her into who God designed her to be.

The education style and expectations are unorganized and not challenging enough. There are also some major safety concerns that include children wandering out of the building, no verification that the child has been picked up, and unmonitored bathroom breaks. There's also a huge lack of communication with parents and teachers.

Ellie Rose is very tender-hearted. She has this ability to pick up on the emotions of others, and be a place of comfort if someone is struggling. She may come across as quiet at first, but once she feels comfortable her silly personality will come out. She loves making others laugh to the point she will do whatever it takes to make someone laugh, hah! She also loves gymnastics and swimming!

Ellie Rose thrives with structure. She has excelled in reading through kindergarten this year, and loves the challenge of a new book that's just slightly beyond her level. Any subject that includes an art element excites her. She has a strong work ethic, and loves the satisfaction of completing a task.

Any type of discipline at home usually involves a quick repentance and maybe some tears. Ellie Rose is very sensitive. Her heart is usually very quick to recognize whatever the wrong behavior was without a single word from me.
